doctors, surgeons, therapists, and other experts. Are you interested in participating in a viewing of footage, as we move into postproduction? If you have lipoedema, and could give feedback, you will have access to online videos: detailing diagnosis, profiling lippy ladies, conservative treatment/MLD and compression, surgeries with numerous expert surgeons from Germany and other experts. There will be a nominal cost to cover expenses. I am currently completing a Ph.D. in Media Psychology at Fielding Graduate University concentrating on empowering women who experience the distortions of body image as represented in the media.     lipodema is a SKIN problem. Thickened skin does not allow sufficient sweating so fluid builds in fat cells.

  2. Yes, Kerri, it is a skin problem but also hormonal disturbance, dysfunctional fat metabolism, and in many cases compromise of the lymphatics. It’s a very complex condition, with not enough known about it at this time though research is beginning.

      I know my lipodema is associated with my keratoderma (skin thickening) however despite much research have read nothing. Maybe lipo specialists should get together with dermatologists.
